actually, ive looked into flashcards and because there are no more real R4s(they stopped producing ages ago), there are no firmware updates. now, im thinking about the DSTTs, they seem to be very popular and dirt cheap.

well, i beat Chinatown wars a while back, its a nice game, fairly fun and a decent length. mini games like rampages are really good.it is a bit tricky to drive around at first and the soundtrack is repetitive but its enjoyable enough.

got my acekard off dealextreme and ill post up some impressions in a while, going to set it up now...

so far so good. the acekard clearly labels each game in the menu with a picture and large text, much more pleasant than the tiny jumbled writing on the r4. got meteos, Looney Tunes Duck Amuck, Super Monkey Ball and DK Jungle Climber all waiting to be played.

also, emulation seems to be a doddle as the flashcart auto-DLDI any emulator you throw at it. the emulators are also clearly labeled in the acekard's dashboard.

so far, i tried a GameBoy Emu called lameboy with Tetris DX and it worked very well. shows the game in its true aspect plus you can zoom it out to fill most of the DS screen without chopping any of the game screen.

also tried a megadrive emu called jenesis with sonic 3 but the ds isnt up to it id say, sprites and levels dont look as good as they should plus the two sides of the picture are effectively chopped off . you can scale left to right with L and R but really, that is no substitute for having the game on the screen in full, the way it should be. it is functional though, the speed is very good bar some slowdown at times, the sound is largely quite good with the odd glitch and if you dont have a psp for emulation, its worth trying out.

will defintiely be trying out the emulator for the Master System/Game Gear and probably the one for the Neo Geo Pocket as well.

haven played or downloaded a DS game for years. I think Nintendo has forgotten about it.

its still out there, sur the dsi came out! try GTA, thats good. also zelda spirit tracks is on the horizon, that will be excellent. and if nothing else is there, you can try out emulators.

heres the link for an Acekard 2: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11811

only 11 dollars and unlike the r4, new firmware are stil being released, both unofficial and official.
